The Administrator will also contribute to strategic discussions and operational planning.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will have a degree in science or related field and substantial (at least 5 years) of related experience in business management, including facilities management, handling human resources issues and financial administration; or have an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The Office Administrator needs to have a keen interest in and at least general understanding of ocean research. An aptitude for strategic thinking and strategic communications will be considered a major asset. High level oral and written communication skills are essential coupled with confidence in interacting with senior level staff and officers within UVic and in a broad range of external public and private sector agencies. The Administrator will handle highly confidential material and share the confidence of the President.
