{"id":286,"date":"2011-03-23T11:10:07","date_gmt":"2011-03-23T18:10:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maritimeawards.wordpress.com\/?p=286"},"modified":"2011-03-23T11:12:10","modified_gmt":"2011-03-23T18:12:10","slug":"international-youth-internship-program-iyip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maritimeawards.ca\/blog\/?p=286","title":{"rendered":"International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dalhousie University has been awarded internship placements in the CIDA\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acdi-cida.gc.ca\/acdi-cida\/ACDI-CIDA.nsf\/En\/ANN-9308195-GFY\" target=\"_self\">International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)<\/a> beginning in the spring of 2011. The IYIP is a youth internship program designed to give young Canadian professionals (ages 19-30) with a university\/college degree(s) the opportunity to gain valuable international development work experience.<\/p>\n<p>The application deadline for the next group of IYIP internship placements is\u00a0<strong>Friday,<\/strong> <strong>April 1, 2011, 4 pm (AST)<\/strong>.\u00a0The internship opportunities are listed below as well as the application process.\u00a0Selected interns\u00a0should be available for the required\u00a0pre-departure session during the week of\u00a0<strong>April 25, 2011 (TBC)<\/strong> AND available to\u00a0start the internship placement\u00a0at the host institution in\u00a0<strong>June 2011<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Eligibility Criteria<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Be between 19 and 30 years of age<\/li>\n<li>Have graduated from a university or college program by the time the internship placement begins<\/li>\n<li>Be unemployed or underemployed<\/li>\n<li>Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident legally entitled to work in Canada<\/li>\n<li>Have not previously participated in a program funded by CIDA\u2019s\u00a0Youth Employment Strategy (YES)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div !supportLists]-->Pre-departure orientation<\/li>\n<li><!--[if !supportLists]-->Internship placement of 5-6 months<\/li>\n<li>Public Engagement Activity<\/li>\n<li><!--[if = !supportLists]-->Debrief program upon return<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"3DMsoNormal\">To apply for one of  the\u00a0internship placements listed above, complete the <a href=\"http:\/\/marineaffairsprogram.dal.ca\/Files\/IYIP_application_form_spring_2011-11.doc\" target=\"_self\">APPLICATION FORM <\/a>and send  \u00a0by email with your curriculum vitae (that includes 3 references with  daytime contact phone number and email) to <a href=\"mailto:marine.affairs@dal.ca\">marine.affairs@dal.ca<\/a> by the <strong>DEADLINE  of April 1, 2011<\/strong>.
