Our economic future depends on technology and innovation. Secondary treatment is an obsolete technology that does not address the significant issues — deals with yesterday’s problems using yesterday’s technologies. Doesn’t help with heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, emerging threats. Need new technology, preferably BC originated technology.
We need to use our position in CCME to argue for national standards that do not rely on the 100-year old technology of secondary treatment.
